Is Your Soap Causing Skin Itch? How Natural Soap Saved My Family’s Skin.

Is Your Soap Causing Skin Itch? How Natural Soap Saved My Family’s Skin.

The Magic of Naturally Made Skin Care

If you’ve ever watched your child climb out of the bath only to scratch their skin red, you know that sinking feeling in your stomach.

I know it because I lived it. I started Fosters Fields 14 years ago with candles, but my path  quickly shifted after seeing how a local natural bar transformed my own skin, I dove headfirst into the world of soap-making and skin care to help myself my oldest daughter combat dry, eczema prone skin.

The Secret Culprits in Your Shower

Most "soaps" at the grocery store are actually synthetic detergents. They contain harsh surfactants designed to strip grease off a frying pan, not protect your delicate skin barrier.

I had one goal: create a cleansing experience that didn't leave my families skin dry or aggravate our eczema. Personally, I also struggled with acne for years, and after trying every drugstore "solution" on the market, it was actually my own unscented soap that finally cleared my face.

The Fosters Fields Difference: Why it Works

I went back to the basics, focusing on plant-based fats that "feed" the skin:

1.The Power of Butters: We use Shea and/or Cocoa butter. These provide a non-stripping cleanse that keeps your natural oils where they belong.

2.Safe Scents: Fragrance is the #1 trigger for sensitive skin. I use essential oils and fragrances at precise, safe percentages for scent without the "itch." Our sensitive skin should not keep us from enjoying a beautifully scented bar of soap!

3.The Glycerin Advantage: Unlike commercial brands that strip out the glycerin to sell to other large companies, our cold-processed method of soap making keeps all of it in the bar to pull moisture into your skin.

My Formulation Secret: K-I.S.S.

In my 20s, I was a hairdresser. While in a course on color theory our instructor told us : "Keep It Stupid Simple." That stuck. Whether it’s hair or soap, the best results come from not over-complicating things. I don't use "filler" ingredients; if it doesn't serve your skin, it doesn't go in the pot. My ingredients are simple, pronounce-able, and naturally good for your skin!

From Our Home to Yours

Today, my oldest daughter still uses a bar in her home, my middle daughter got lucky with few sensitivities and my son also has problem skin and uses a bar to keep his skin from getting irritated.

When you use a Fosters Fields bar of soap, you’re using the exact formulas and bars I trust for my own family.

NOTE-I love sharing how these products have transformed my own routine, but it’s important to remember that everyone’s skin journey is unique! While I stand behind the quality of Fosters Fields, Health Canada regulations prevent me from making any medical claims. I can’t promise my soaps will cure or prevent specific skin conditions, but I can promise they are a gentle, thoughtful addition to your daily self-care."
