Fosters Fields Bath Salts - FostersFields

Fosters Fields Bath Salts

As the warmth of summer fades into the cooler temperatures of fall, we are quickly reminded that a warm bath will warm up our bodies after the outdoor activities that make up fall in Ontario.

Fosters Fields Bath Salts are the perfect relaxing addition to your bath experience. Our bath salts usually only make an appearance at this time of year and up until after the holidays. This year we have added soothing colloidal oats to the recipe.

What are colloidal oats anyway...

Colloidal oat is a finely ground form of oats that is suspended in a liquid, usually water. It is made by grinding oat grains into a fine powder, which is then mixed with water to create a smooth, milky substance. This process allows the beneficial properties of oats to be easily absorbed by the skin.

Colloidal oats can give relief to itchy skin, soothe dry skin or even be used a gentle cleanser.

Lavender Essential Oil...

Lavender essential oil is extracted from the flowers of the lavender plant through a process called steam distillation. It is a concentrated form of the plant's natural oils and contains many of the same beneficial compounds found in the plant itself.

Lavender has been used for many years as a natural way to unwind and relax, though that is far from its limits. Lavender essential oil is a very versatile oil and one of the most popular!

In the past Fosters Fields Lavender Bath Salts had the lavender buds put into the recipe which was than added as a whole to your running bath water. Being that everything Fosters Fields puts onto the shelf is tested first hand by myself, you can imagine my disappointment when I stood up from my relaxing bath to find lavender buds in places they should not be! I did attempt a few times to bath in that recipe because so many of you wanted lavender in the bath salts, figured I must of missed something to not enjoy them. Nope, not missing anything, in fact hated the floating bits of stuff so much I didn't even finish the giant jar I had made for myself.

What I did however love is the smell and look of the lavender. This year I chose to add the lavender buds with a little calendula to a bag outside the jar. Those who enjoy the floating bits can use the included scoop and add them to their bath. Those of us who prefer to keep the buds out of our not so itsy bitsy places can enjoy the bag as a tea in the bath or even enjoy the beautiful scent in other places around the house, like our closets.

The Lavender and Oats Bath Salts are beautifully formulated to soothe and moisturize your tired skin and body. You can add as much or as a little as you wish, might I suggest lighting a few candles and turning on your meditation music. Don't forget to send the kids outside, because we all know that as soon as the toes touch the water...the kiddos need answers to the questions that could of waited 20 minutes:)
